Jay Grace

Director, Moominvalley

Jay Grace is an award winning director and animator with over 25 years of experience in the animation industry. He's known predominantly for his work with the Oscar-winning animation studio Aardman, where he was involved in many TV and Feature film projects.

His notable credits include Key Character Animator on the critically acclaimed films Chickenrun and Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Wererabbit, which gained him an Annie nomination in 2006. He served as Animation Director on Peter Lord's 2013 Oscar nominated, The Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists which earned him a VES nomination. He's directed commercials, short films and over 20 episodes of the highly successful TV series Shaun the Sheep, which earned him a Bafta in 2014. In 2015 he directed the BBC Christmas special, The Farmer's Llamas which was nominated for a Bafta and won numerous awards including an International Kids Emmy in 2016.

In 2018 he joined Gutsy Animations working as an Episode Director on Moominvalley, a new adaptation of the much loved work by author Tove Jansen commissioned by Sky One and Yle.
