Dr. Tasmin Plater

Head of HR

Endeavor Content

Dr. Tasmin Plater is the Head of HR for Endeavor Content (EC), a leader in the development, financing, and sales of premium film, television, theater, audio, and live content. As the Head of Human Resources at Endeavor Content, Plater’s goal of building a “Studio with a Soul” has made an impression that transcends the business and is leaving a mark on the entertainment industry as a whole. In his role, Plater understands the importance of storytelling. The media can influence the way people think about important social issues such as race, sexual orientation, gender, and class. Under his tenure, Plater has played an instrumental part in Color of Change’s #ChangeHollywood Initiative, led the creation of a state-of-the-art “Content Scorecard,” and joined the original co-authors of the Inclusion Rider, Kalpana Kotagal and Fanshen Cox, as the newest co-author of the newly released Inclusion Rider. Plater and the team at Endeavor Content have owned their role as influencers and subsequently created a task force, titled the Inclusion Audit Committee (IAC) led by Plater, that consist of executives across several departments, effectively creating a “war department” with purview into all business, creative, and HR-related aspects of their work, including, business-critical revenue drivers to develop accountability in maintaining diverse representation. His presence on the advisory board of Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP)’s HBCU in LA, the Endeavor Black Collective, the Endeavor Content Black Collective, and co-heading the Diversity Working Group across Endeavor has allowed Plater to establish on-going partnerships with organizations like HBCU in LA, Anti Recidivism Coalition (ARC), Color of Change and others to ensure Hollywood continues the fight for more inclusion at all levels.

Plater joined Endeavor Content in 2018 by way of The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), where he supported a diverse group of leaders in Corporate Legal, specifically, the Deputy General Counsels of Parks and Resorts, Compliance, Intellectual Property, Anti-Trust, and Patents. Before TWDC, Plater spent thirteen years with other notable Fortune 500  companies, such as Quest Diagnostic, Bridgestone Americas, Weyerhaeuser, and CVS Pharmacy. Plater graduated from Louisiana State University Shreveport before earning his Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Strayer University and his Doctorate in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources from Capella University.

Speaking on: Systemic solutions: breaking barriers and rebuilding a better entertainment industry

At the Banff Media Festival, we met with Netflix and took a ride up Sulphur Mountain on the gondola. That’s where we made the pitch.
