Kirstine Stewart has spent a ground-breaking career working at the intersection of media and technology working with platforms, networks and content creators internationally. 

As VP Media at Twitter in New York, Kirstine led teams across the US driving partnerships in Entertainment, News and Sports. Kirstine transitioned to this role from her position as Twitter Canada Managing Director where she founded and built Twitter’s fastest-growing global ad sales office, located in Toronto.

Prior to Twitter, Kirstine was the EVP of Canada’s national broadcaster the CBC, with overall responsibility for all Television, Radio and Digital activity. She is credited with reviving the broadcaster, introducing hit shows like Dragons’ Den (Shark’s Tank), Murdoch Mysteries, Heartland, Being Erica and she rebuilt CBC’s internal team responsible for developing comedies Kim’s Convenience, Schitt’s Creek and more. She also led the digital transformation of the Corp expanding CBC’s reach across all platforms. 

Over her career, Kirstine held a series of executive positions in Canada and the US focused on the global and regional expansion of US brands including HGTV and Food Network and managing programming of 37 international channels for Hallmark Entertainment with offices in Denver, Hong Kong, New York and LA.


Prior to her current role at WEF as Head of the Future of Media, where she works with the CEOs and Chairs of member companies such as Facebook, Tencent, NBCU and YouTube, Kirstine held C-suite and advisory positions at successful tech startups, the most recent being digital transformation specialists TribalScale. 

Kirstine has served on a number of public, private and nonprofit boards including TheScore, WOW and Ryerson University’s tech incubator DMZ. She currently sits on the Board of the Canadian Science and Technology Museum and as a founding member of Innovation Leaders Against Racism hosted by MarS and the CAMH Foundation Board. She also aids in the Prosperity Project, focused on the socio-economic post pandemic recovery of women in the workforce. 

Kirstine is the author of bestselling leadership book published by Random House “Our Turn” and makes Los Angeles her home.
