Philippa Collie Cousins

Sr Drama Commissioner

UKTV

Philippa is UKTV’s first dedicated drama commissioner. She joined the multi-channel broadcaster in May 2018 and is responsible for overseeing all original drama series.

Philippa’s second commission is We Hunt Together, written by Gaby Hull (Cheat). It’s a six part thriller starring Eve Myles (Keeping Faith) Babou Cessay (Dark Money, Daminola Taylor) and brand new talent Hermione Cornfiled and Dipo Ola. The series is produced by BBC Studios, directed by Carl Tibbetts (Black Mirror, The Feed), and designed by Jamie Lapley (The Bodyguard). This bold, visually stunning new series starts on UKTV’s leading crime drama channel, Alibi, on Wednesday 27th May.

Philippa’s first commission for UKTV was Traces, a six-part series starring Martin Compston (Line of Duty) and Molly Windsor (3 Girls, Cheat). It was written by Amelia Bullmore (Scott & Bailey) and produced by RED Production Company (Happy Valley and Years and Years). It launched in December 2019 on UKTV’s leading crime drama channel, Alibi, and has been extremely successful.

Prior to joining UKTV, Philippa was the head of drama development at Hartswood West, head of drama Development at Fresh One and head of production for BBC Series and Serials in BBC Indie Drama Commissioning. She won best European Director for her film Happy Now, starring Jonny Rhys Myer and Paddy Considine, and is the BAFTA-award winning director behind The Deadness of Dad starring Rhys Ifans.
