Speaker Kim Coates
Kim Coates is a veteran, award-winning actor best known to audiences worldwide as fan-favorite Tig Trager on FX’s hit series Sons of Anarchy. With a career spanning more than four decades across television, film, and stage, he continues to deliver bold, unforgettable performances.
Recently, Coates appeared in AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City as the chilling Bruegel and portrayed Brigham Young in Netflix’s acclaimed limited series American Primeval. His work in Netflix’s Bad Blood earned him a Canadian Screen Award, alongside nearly 100 standout television roles, including Godless and White House Plumbers.
On the film side, he has starred in more than 80 features, including Black Hawk Down, The Last Boy Scout, Double Down South, True Memoirs of an International Assassin with Kevin James, Strange Weather opposite Holly Hunter, the hit sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, and the cult graphic novel adaptation Officer Downe. After a 30-year hiatus from the stage, he returned to theater in Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem, winning the Dora Award for Best Actor.
