Alec Strum was named Vice President, Scripted Original Programming for EPIX in 2020 and is on the programming team responsible for the development and production of original scripted series including Godfather of Harlem, Pennyworth, Chapelwaite, Bridge and Tunnel and upcoming From and Billy the Kid. Before joining EPIX, Strum was Director, Drama Programming & Development at Fox Entertainment. While there he shepherded the development and current programming for a slate of their drama series, including The Resident, Gotham, The Gifted, Deputy, The Passage, Proven Innocent and Next. In addition, he supervised Fox’s live, acclaimed production of Rent.
Prior to joining Fox, Strum was part of the UTA TV Literary Department, after beginning his career as a dramaturg, producer and director in New York, serving as Associate Literary Manager at Playwrights Horizons and as an assistant director both on and off Broadway.
Strum has a B.A in Literary Studies & theatre from Middlebury College and is a member of the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences.
