JP Larocque

TV Writer, Producer and Journalist

JP Larocque is a television writer, producer, and journalist. Alongside recent work on CBC’s Sort Of, JP has written on Coroner (CBC), Jann (CTV), Slasher (Netflix/Shudder), Diggstown (CBC), Another Life (Netflix), and SkyMed (CBC), and is creator and executive producer of the OUTtv digital series Gay Nerds.

As a journalist, JP has bylines in The Toronto Star, The Walrus, Maclean’s, Xtra, and Flare. In 2021, JP was a participant in the inaugural WarnerMedia x Canadian Academy Global Access Program, the Netflix-Banff Diversity of Voices Initiative, and the CFC/Netflix Project Development Accelerator.

A proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, JP is committed to diversity and inclusion in all their work.

At the Banff Media Festival, we met with Netflix and took a ride up Sulphur Mountain on the gondola. That’s where we made the pitch.
