Prior to joining Discovery Channel, Micallef was a Production Assistant for Discovery Studios in Silver Spring, MD. While at Discovery Studios, he was responsible for pitching and developing projects for multiple networks.

Micallef holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and History with a minor in Political Science.
