James Younger is Executive Vice President of Factual Productions at Revelations Entertainment, Morgan
Freeman and Lori McCreary's production company. James is a documentary director, showrunner and
executive producer with four Emmy nominations, specializing in turning factual themes into
entertaining, compelling, and thought-provoking stories.
Together at Revelations, Morgan, Lori and James produce The Story of God with Morgan Freeman (2016-
2019), a global journey exploring the common ground between the world’s major faiths. Younger directed
and wrote the doc-series, which remains the highest-rated series ever on National Geographic. They also
produced The Story of Us, seven seasons of Through the Wormhole (2010-2016), the feature
documentaryThe C-Word, and the Peabody-winning 30 for 30 film The 16th Man for ESPN.
Prior to moving to Los Angeles, James produced documentaries at the BBC in London, including writing
and directing the award-winning series The Planets. He also wrote for The Economist and The New York
Times, earned a PhD in Biophysics from UC Berkeley, and published several academic research papers.
