Speaker Mae Martin
Mae Martin is a comedian, actor, producer, writer, podcast host, and singer-songwriter. Mae co-hosts the hit GLAAD Media Award-winning podcast HANDSOME on the Headgum network alongside Tig Notaro and Fortune Feimster, also streaming on Hulu. Recently, Netflix announced its first-look partnership with Mae. Under the deal, Netflix will premiere Mae's next stand-up special while Mae will continue to develop new series for the streamer. In Spring 2026, Mae toured their new stand-up show THE POSSUM across North America, and they also hosted the 2026 Juno Awards broadcast live on CBC and YouTube around the world. Notably, Mae created, co-showran, starred in, wrote for, and executive produced the one of Netflix’ most-watched limited series WAYWARD, which launched in September 2025 to critical acclaim. Mae is also known for their semi-autobiographical comedy-drama series FEEL GOOD, which they created, co-wrote, and starred in for Netflix, earning them a 2021 BAFTA TV Award nomination. Also on television, Mae won Season 15 of Channel 4’s game show TASKMASTER.
Beloved for their comedy, Mae released the stand-up specials DOPE and SAP, with the latter earning a Juno Award nomination for “Comedy Album of the Year.” In 2025, Mae released their debut music album, I’m A TV, globally through Universal Music Canada. Mae also ventured into documentary work, hosting the CBC docuseries FLUID: LIFE BEYOND THE BINARY and appearing in Netflix’s OUTSTANDING: A COMEDY REVOLUTION. Their debut book, Can Everyone Please Calm Down?: A Guide to 21st Century Sexuality, was published by Hachette. In 2019 to positive reviews. Mae also self-published a book of their paintings with all proceeds going to support Doctors Without Borders.
