Speaker Devery Jacobs
Devery Jacobs is an actor, writer, director, producer, and advocate for Indigenous and
LGBTQ2S+ rights from Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory. Her leading role on the Emmy®-
nominated FX comedy series RESERVATION DOGS earned her two Critics’ Choice Award
nominations and a Gotham Award nomination for her performance as “Elora Danan.” Jacobs
also wrote and directed on RESERVATION DOGS. Other credits include her feature film
producorial debut BACKSPOT, the Disney+ and Marvel Studios series ECHO and WHAT IF...?
where she spoke exclusively in the Mohawk language, Amazon MGM’s holiday comedy film
OH. WHAT. FUN., and Netflix’s horror dramedy series THE ORDER. Jacobs’ breakout
performance in feature film RHYMES FOR YOUNG GHOULS earned a Canadian Screen
Award nomination. She directed the award-winning shorts STOLEN and RAE, and co-wrote and
starred in feature film THIS PLACE. A Sundance Directors Lab fellow, Jacobs recently finished
writing her feature film HIGH STEEL, and she is developing other projects.
