Speaker Cathie James
Cathie James oversees unscripted development and content at Blue Ant Studios. Previously, she was the Co-President of Proper Television where she created original series like Beer Budget Reno (A&E, Corus), Andy’s East Coast Kitchen Crawl (Food Network) and Cross Country Cake-Off (Bell Media).
She has also executive produced a number of international formats and originals including The Great Canadian Baking Show (CBC), MasterChef Canada (Bell Media), Motel Makeover (Netflix) and Iron Chef Canada (Food Network). Prior to joining Proper, Cathie was part of the pioneering executive team at CBC Factual Entertainment that oversaw Dragon’s Den and Battle of the Blades. She has a master's degree in journalism and began her career in news and current affairs.
