Piazza has produced numerous internationally recognized television series, including SkyMed, Lost Girl, Dark
Matter, Nurses, and XIII, as well as the feature film The Other Half, starring Tatiana Maslany.

Recognized as one of North America’s leading television executives, Piazza was named to the Top 30 Executives list by The Hollywood Reporter and was featured in The Globe and Mail’s TIFF Edition for her achievements in film and television.

With extensive experience spanning both the creative and financial aspects of production, Piazza has built a strong international network of partners, broadcasters, and distributors. Early in her career, she worked on the international miniseries XIII, a Canada–France co-production involving Canal+, M6, NBC, and Showcase, helping establish her reputation in large-scale international co-productions.

Most recently, Piazza executive produced four seasons of SkyMed, the one-hour medical drama following nurses and pilots flying air ambulance missions across the remote regions of Northern Manitoba. The fourth season will air in Canada on Paramount+, in the United States on Paramount+, and internationally through CBS Studios.

Prior to SkyMed, Piazza developed and executive produced the groundbreaking supernatural drama Lost Girl, which aired on Syfy, Showcase, and Netflix. The series ran for six seasons and became a global cult hit. She also developed and executive produced the science-fiction series Dark Matter, based on the graphic novel of the same name, which aired on Syfy, Space, and Netflix, and became one of Syfy’s highest-rated programs during its three-season run.

Piazza Entertainment is a Toronto-based film and television production company dedicated to developing and producing premium scripted content for Canadian and international audiences. Founded in 2016 by executive producer Vanessa Piazza, the company focuses on high-quality television series and feature films with global appeal.
