Darcy Waite is an Indigenous filmmaker and writer-director. Darcy is a graduate of the National Screen Institute (NSI) Series Incubator Program, where he developed an original 1⁄2 hour scripted series, Zombies Don’t Eat Stupid People. He also developed an original 1⁄2 hour series, The Friendship Centre, during the 2022 Warner Media Canadian Academy Writers Program. Darcy’s feature debut, Lucky Strikes, which he wrote and directed, was funded via Telefilm’s ‘Talent to Watch’ and produced in 2023.

Darcy has honed his writing skills by studying scriptwriting and sketch comedy at Second City. Several of Darcy’s original shorts and web series projects have screened at film festivals throughout North America, including imagineNATIVE, the American Indian Film Festival, and the California American Indian and Indigenous Film Festival. Darcy has directed numerous shorts, web series, docuseries and new multimedia content (Snapchat), as well as shadowdirected on scripted TV series in preparation for his TV directing career.

Darcy is intentional, as he grows his career in film and TV, about telling uplifting Indigenous stories.
