Speaker Courtney Thomasma
Courtney Thomasma, Executive VP of Streaming at AMC Networks, is a respected industry leader known for her innovative, data-driven approach. She oversees AMC’s global streaming portfolio, including AMC+, Acorn TV, ALLBLK, HIDIVE, IFC Films Unlimited, Shudder, and Sundance Now. Her role includes overseeing the management and strategic direction of each platform, partnering with leaders across programming, research, and marketing to maximize the potential and value of AMC Networks’ entire streaming suite.
Thomasma’s previous roles include General Manager of AMC+ and Executive Director of BBCA America, where she honed her skills in data analytics, audience development and programming strategy. She played a crucial role in the creation, development, and launch of AMC+ in 2020, focusing on subscriber acquisition, user engagement, and global expansion.
She has curated a high-quality lineup for AMCN’s platforms, including award-winning shows like This is Going to Hurt and The North Water. She also oversees the expansion of The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe across the company’s streaming portfolio.
Thomasma joined AMC Networks in 2013 as VP of Research & Insights for BBC America where she oversaw the development and release of popular programs like Killing Eve and Doctor Who. She co-authored the study Superpowering Girls and helped launch AMC Networks’ Galaxy of Women initiative.
Thomasma is a Cable Executive Management program alumna at the Harvard Business School, a Betsy Magness Leadership Institute graduate, and has been recognized as a top executive by various media outlets as a leading executive across programming and streaming strategy.
