Steve Ascher

A+E Networks

Steve Ascher is Executive Vice President, Head of Development for A+E FACTUAL STUDIOS™. In this role, Ascher creates unscripted series, specials and documentaries for the A+E Networks™ portfolio and the marketplace at large.

A veteran producer and journalist, Ascher’s recent credits include the Emmy®-nominated Black Patriots: Heroes of the Revolution with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the critically acclaimed Unbelievable w/Dan Aykroyd, both for The HISTORY® Channel. He also served as an executive producer alongside Monica Lewinsky on the documentary 15 Minutes of Shame for MAX. His team has produced hundreds of titles including Groundbreakers with Billie Jean King (PBS); The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard (Lifetime);  Best in Snow (Disney+). Ascher joined The HISTORY Channel in 2013 as an executive producer with oversight in series and specials including Forged in Fire®, Pawn Stars®, Ax Men® and Alcatraz: Search for the Truth.

Prior to joining A+E Networks, he worked at NBC News, traveling the world and telling stories in places like Beijing, Dubai and Panama. Ascher lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
