Speaker Maramena Roderick
Maramena Roderick has been recognised as a Woman of Influence in New Zealand. A multi-award winning practitioner, she began her career in newsrooms and became New Zealand’s first Māori foreign correspondent in Europe and first NZ female journalist sent into war zones. She has produced and directed critically acclaimed programmes across nearly every genre of television. Maramena has been a journalism lecturer, strategic advisor to government and financial assessor on a number of national panels. She has been the Head of News and Current Affairs, Head of Strategy and Marketing and is presently the Director of all Content at Māori Television.
