Tavake Ltd

In 2021, Nua Finau co-founded the production company Tavake with business partner Tom Hern. Their debut drama series, The Panthers, which they both wrote, created, and executive produced, made history as the first New Zealand TV series to premiere at the esteemed Toronto International Film Festival and also clinched a record setting eight awards at the 2022 NZTV Awards.

In 2023, Nua elevated his impact by releasing Red, White & Brass, his debut feature film. A feel good family comedy written and produced by Nua, with collaboration from Executive Producers Taika Waititi and Carthew Neal. The film swiftly earned its place as a Polynesian classic, reaching number 21 on the all-time New Zealand box office list.

Nua Finau's remarkable achievements extended beyond the cinematic realm. In 2023, he received the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Pacific Enterprise Award. Additionally, he served on the Content Advisory Board for the 2023 Banff World Media Festival, contributing his expertise to the global media landscape. Nua Finau's journey is a testament to his commitment to elevating Polynesian storytelling on a global scale.
