Jennifer Avis is Partner and General Manager at Jump Studios in Calgary, Alberta, where she directs daily operations of the award-winning post-production house. Jump recently worked with HBO on “Love Life” and FX on “A Teacher,” creating motion graphics and VFX for both dramatic series. Jump also recently designed the motion graphics packages for the 2022 Banff World Media Festival’s awards programs.
Jennifer is responsible for project managing ESPN’s broadcast design packages for Wimbledon and US Open. She was also a Producer and Writer on the sports broadcaster’s features “Best Buddies - Peter Mullin” and “A Very Special Christmas” for coverage of the Special Olympics 50th Anniversary. In addition to her producing role, Jennifer has worked as the picture post supervisor on several independent feature films including Burns’ Films, “Man Running,” Andrew Simpson’s, “Wolves Unleashed,” and Manifold Films’, “Northlander” and “Parallel Minds.” Her client accounts include Alberta Film, the National Film Board, the Calgary Stampede, and C&B Advertising. She has won two Rosie Awards (Alberta Media Production Industries Association) while at Jump Studios for Best Educational and Not-for-Profit productions.
Prior to joining Jump Studios, Jennifer was the publicist on Canadian cult classic, “Fubar II,” CBC series, “Wild Roses,” CTV movie of the week “Horses of McBride,” staring Aiden Quinn and directed by Anne Wheeler, and pilot “Borealis.” She was the Vice President of Operations for Pyramid Productions, where she worked as a Producer and Writer on true crime shows, “The Criminal Mind” and “Homicide File.” Jennifer was also the voice behind popular entertainment shows, “Hollywood’s Ten Best,” “The Screaming Room” and “The Most Amazing.”
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Diploma of Broadcast Journalism. She also sits on the board of directors for the Alberta Post Production Association and Mount Royal University’s Media Studies Advisory Board.
