Larry Shuman is founder of The Shuman Company, an entertainment management/production firm specializing in the development of television & film writers since 1991. His many long-time clients have gone on to become some of the highest-level writers in the industry, including Shawn Ryan, Creator of The Shield, S.W.A.T and the upcoming Night Agent for Netflix; David Shore, Creator of House and The Good Doctor; Tim Minear, Co-Creator of 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star; Rolin Jones, Co-Creator of Perry Mason and the upcoming Interview with the Vampire for AMC; Alexi Hawley, Creator of The Rookie and the upcoming Graymail for Netflix; Randy Huggins, Creator of Black Mafia Family (BMF) for Starz; and Ben Cavell, Creator of Seal Team and Stephen King’s The Stand.
The Shuman Company also has a production arm, which in recent years has had pod deals at Fox Television Studios and ABC Studios. They produced Marc Cherry's series Devious Maids for Lifetime (4 year run), as well as the 2015 feature film Concussion for Sony, starring Will Smith.
Larry is also actively involved in the theater. Recent productions by clients include Paul Grellong’s Power of Sail starring Bryan Cranston, which premiered at the Geffen in Los Angeles in March 2022; and Bekah Brunstetter’s upcoming musical production of The Notebook, which is holding auditions in Chicago prior to heading to Broadway in the spring. Larry also serves on the board of The Lark, a NYC-based non-profit play development center that provides a resource for young playwrights to nurture and develop their talents and voices.
Larry currently resides with his family in Pacific Palisades.
