Josiane is a writer, director, producer, whose artistic works address mainly social issues and cultural interactions. Josiane's versatility allowed her to occupy a wide range of positions in Canada, Europe, South America and Africa. In 2016, she developed and directed for TFO Jeunes d'exception (Amazing Teenagers), 7 episodes documentary webseries about exceptional teenagers who have distinguished themselves by their actions, inventions and / or community engagements.
Tales of Ordinary Fatphobia, her short documentary produced by the National Film Board of Canada regarding the impact of fatphobia on the mental heatlh of kids and teens, premiered on CBC/Radio-Canada in 2020. In 2021, her 7 episodes scripted short form series Ainsi va Manu/Hogtown was launched on the streaming platform of French broadcasters TV5 & TFO and was selected for multiple international festivals winning best director, best screenplay & best original score at Sydney webfest and best director at NYC Webfest. That same year, Josiane had the opportunity to produce and host the French episodes of Strong & Free, an Historica Canada and Media Girlfriends 6-episode podcast series about Canadian Black history while writing & directing her short film False Start.
Alumni of Doc Institute Breakthrough program (2018), Hotdocs Accelerator Lab (2020) & The Academy’s Women Directors program (2021), Josiane is currently in production on her feature documentary, Words Left Unspoken and in development of a variety of scripted and documentary TV Series.
