Amy Gravitt is executive vice president, HBO Programming, for Home Box Office, responsible for developing and overseeing the production of original comedy series. She was named to this position in May 2016. She currently oversees “VEEP,” “Insecure,” “Barry,” “Silicon Valley,” “Ballers” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” She also oversaw the hit series “Vice Principals,” “Eastbound and Down,” “Entourage,” “Extras,” and “Flight of the Conchords”. Her upcoming projects include “Avenue 5” with Armando Iannucci and Hugh Laurie, “The Righteous Gemstones” with Danny McBride and John Goodman, “Mrs. Fletcher” with Tom Perrotta and Kathryn Hahn, “RUN” with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Vicky Jones, “QualityLand” with Mike Judge, “A Black Lady Sketch Show” with Robin Thede and Issa Rae, and “Los Espookys” with Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega, and Fred Armisen.
Gravitt joined HBO in 2004. Prior to HBO, she spent several years in the U.S. Navy, serving onboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CV-64) rising to the rank of Lieutenant. She deployed to the Persian Gulf in 1997, in support of Operation Southern Watch. She began her career in entertainment at Section Eight, George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh’s production company. She graduated from Duke University with a BA in Political Science.
