The TELUS STORYHIVE BANFF Fellowship Program is designed to provide training and support for emerging and mid-level creators. The program is intended to encourage professional development in digital production for producers, directors, and writers in BC and Alberta with at least one credit to their name. By providing unparalleled access at the BANFF World Media Festival, we hope to support career acceleration for the recipients of the Fellowship program.

SECTION B

The TELUS STORYHIVE BANFF Fellowship Program is intended to encourage development of emerging talent. It is not intended for established professionals and is a program aimed at emerging or mid-level digital content creators. Applicants must be based in British Columbia or Alberta and should have at least one production credit (producing, directing or writing) ), and should be developing projects with specific goals in mind. While not limited to any specific genre, projects must qualify as Canadian content and should reflect the values of TELUS and local programming in general, and focus on exhibition and promotion via digital platforms.

Financial need is a consideration in the adjudication of TELUS STORYHIVE Fellowship applications. Your acknowledgement below is both an affirmation of the accuracy of the information you have provided in your application, as well as an affirmation that whether you receive a TELUS STORYHIVE Fellowship will materially affect your ability to attend the Banff World Media Festival. The festival office may call you if additional information is required for verification or clarification of financial need. Applicants may not be associated with TELUS, including but not limited to the employees, agents and representatives of TELUS or another broadcast distribution undertaking (a BDU) such as Optik TV, TELUS Satellite TV, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct or any other Canadian Cable or IPTV service provider. By acknowledging below, the applicant affirms that they are a resident of British Columbia or Alberta. TELUS reserves the right, but not the obligation, to request proof of residency.

TELUS STORYHIVE BANFF Fellowships provide a travel stipend of 3 nights' accommodation at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn or similar; and a full festival registration (June 11 - 14, 2017). This includes admission to all seminars, workshops, screenings, and feature interviews and all official social events. In conjunction with the National Screen Institute, Fellows will also receive market preparation support prior to the festival. Meals and all other costs of attending the festival are the responsibility of the fellow recipient. TELUS STORYHIVE Fellowships, including registration and social tickets, are awarded on the basis of individual merit and are non-transferrable. Paired applications, or applications from several people connected with the same project or company, can only be considered on an individual basis.
