Tom Cox
Executive Producer and Managing Director
SEVEN24 Films
Tom Cox is president of Calgary-based SEVEN24 Films. His productions span
thirty years and include award winning feature films, dramatic series, mini-series
and television movies.
Current productions include Young Drunk Punk, a half hour comedy series for
Rogers, and Heartland, a family drama series now in its eighth season for the
CBC. Recent credits include Borealis, a two-hour drama for SPACE,
Mayorthorpe, a television movie for Bell Media, and Wild Roses, a dramatic
series for the CBC. International co-productions include Burn Up, a dramatic
mini-series for the BBC and Shaw, Dynosapian for CBBC, Discovery Kids and
the CBC, and The Shoebox Zoo for BBC Scotland and the CBC. Feature film coproductions
include Brokeback Mountain, The Assassination of Jesse James by
the Coward Robert Ford and Resurrecting The Champ.
Tom is a new member of the Banff World Media Festival board of directors. He is
a board member and past Chair of the Canadian Media Production Association
and the Alberta Media Production Industries Association, and past Chair and
board member of the National Screen Institute. He is a member of the Alberta
Minister of Culture’s Film Advisory Council and the Premier’s Council on Culture.
Tom is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in
recognition of his contribution to the arts.
