Robin Mirsky is Executive Director of the Rogers Group of Funds. Robin joined Rogers Communications in 1989 as the Project Coordinator for Rogers Telefund, the interim financing fund established by Rogers to assist in the production of high-quality Canadian programming. Today, Rogers Telefund has approximately $34 million available for bridge financing and has committed in excess of $250 million to hundreds of Canadian programs.

Much of the success of Rogers Telefund can be attributed to Robin’s dedication and her understanding and support of the industry. Under her guidance, the Telefund expanded its interim loans to include feature films as well as television programming. She also has put a great deal of emphasis on regional spending as well as ensuring support for many of this country’s film and television festivals and related events.

Robin also was instrumental in setting up the Rogers Documentary Fund, an initiative established in 1996 by Rogers to foster the growth and creation of Canadian documentaries. To date, this fund has given grants to more than 300 original, provocative and revealing documentary films.

Robin is also responsible for the Rogers Cable Network Fund; an equity investment fund created to help develop the kind of specialized and original programming which Canadian cable channels need, in order to increase the number of distinctive program choices Canadian audiences want and expect.

The creation of this fund will infuse an estimated $6 - $10 million annually into Canadian independent production.

In addition to the day-to-day management of Rogers Telefund and Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund, Robin has provided strategic input into a number of successful filings by Rogers to the CRTC including, The Biography Channel, TechTV and Omni 2 in Toronto and Rogers acquisition of City-tv.

Robin is very active in the industry. She is a former member of the board of the Canadian Television Fund. Robin is currently on the boards of the Canadian Film Centre, Banff World Media Festival and is Co-chair of the Hot Docs! Documentary Festival Board. She is a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema.
