Brett A. Paul serves as both President of the Warner Bros. Television Group and Chief Operating Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery’s US Networks. He reports directly to WBTVG and US Networks Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey.
As the top business executive at the Television Group, Brett is tasked with mapping and implementing WBTVG’s strategic direction in a multi-platform media landscape. In this capacity, he has direct operational oversight of all business activities for the television studio. This includes live-action scripted series from Warner Bros. Television; unscripted programming from Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, Telepictures, and Shed Media; and animated titles from Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. In addition to his responsibilities at WBTVG, Brett is Chief Operating Officer of WBD’s US Networks business. In this role, Brett works closely with Channing to set and execute her strategic plan for the Networks group.
As of January 2026, the WBTVG programming slate includes more than 80 productions for over 20 platforms, including HBO and HBO Max, external streaming services, the broadcast networks, and local stations, with hundreds of additional projects in various stages of development. The US Networks include Discovery Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Investigation Discovery, TLC, Adult Swim, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, Cooking Channel, HLN, OWN, TBS, TNT, Travel Channel, truTV, Science Channel, and Turner Classic Movies.
In recognition of his professional accomplishments as a business architect and strategist, Brett was named to the 2024 Variety 500, an annual survey of the most influential business leaders shaping the global media industry. He was also named to the 2025 Variety 120, which highlighted the most powerful executives in entertainment.
Brett began his career at Warner Bros. Television in 1995 as a Business Affairs executive and has served in multiple capacities leading to his current position, including President of the Warner Horizon Scripted Television division from May 2014 until its merger with WBTV in 2020 and President of Warner Bros. Television since May 2019. He was named President of the larger Warner Bros. Television Group in 2024, and Chief Operating Officer of WBD’s US Networks in 2025.
Before joining WBTV, Brett served as both corporate counsel and business affairs executive at All American Communications, and in private legal practice at both Hill Wynne Troop & Meisinger in Southern California and at Cahill, Gordon & Reindel in New York City. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the following organizations: The Forum on Life, Culture & Society (www.folcs.org) since 2008, UCLA Health since 2019, and The Hollywood Radio & Television Society since 2023. He has also served on the finance committee for the Board of Directors of The Willows Community School in Culver City, Calif., since 2023.
