OREN UZIEL is a writer, director, producer, currently serving as co-showrunner of Spider-Noir, the highly anticipated live-action series based on the Marvel comics, which premieres globally on Prime Video May 27, 2026, with a U.S. broadcast release on the MGM+ channel on May 25, 2026. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, alongside Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Amy Pascal. Spider-Noir follows Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator and superhero in 1930s New York.

Most recently for film, Uziel co-wrote the screenplay for The Lost City, a romantic adventure-comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, which grossed over $190 million worldwide.

Uziel garnered industry attention in 2009 with his original Black List script Shimmer Lake, which he ultimately helmed for Netflix in 2017, in his directorial debut. The noir thriller stars Rainn Wilson, Wyatt Russell, and Ron Livingston. Uziel’s subsequent script, Kitchen Sink, made the Black List in 2010 before going on to be produced by Sony as the cult horror-comedy Freaks of Nature

Uziel then went on to co-write 22 Jump Street, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, a critically acclaimed action-comedy sequel that grossed over $330 million worldwide. Uziel also wrote The Cloverfield Paradox, a space-set thriller produced by J.J. Abrams; contributed to the story of the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot; and co-wrote the psychological horror sequel Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.
