Speaker Nafisa Murji
Nafisa is a development executive and producer whose work is driven by a deep commitment to supporting underrepresented voices and championing inclusive storytelling in Canadian film and television.
As Director of Scripted Development at Blink49 Studios, she collaborates closely with creators to develop original projects from concept through production.
Previously, as Director of Development at Pier 21 Films, she played a key role in bringing scripted series such as Don’t Even, Run the Burbs, and Late Bloomer to life. Previous roles include Director of Talent Development Programs at the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, where she designed and oversaw a number of professional development initiatives, and the Canadian Film Centre’s Programs Manager, where she facilitated the Film, Actors and Music programs.
