Melissa Ahlstrand is Marketing Director, Americas, Hayu, NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer (NBCUIN & DTC), where she is a regional marketing lead for Hayu, the all-reality streaming service. Based in Toronto, she is responsible for marketing strategies that drive Canadian audience growth, engagement and retention.
In her role, Ahlstrand oversees the development of integrated marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships and brand initiatives that build awareness, deepen audience engagement and support business growth. Focused on aligning content, culture and consumer insight to deliver impactful and market-relevant strategies, she drives measurable business and revenue outcomes for the service.
Ahlstrand has more than 20 years of experience across media and publishing, with a track record of launching and scaling brands, growing them from market entry to achieving sustained audience and revenue. Having begun her career in New York’s magazine industry, she relocated to Toronto where she spent nearly a decade at Rogers Media, in a series of leadership roles – including Group Publisher –across a portfolio of leading fashion and beauty brands. Throughout her career, she has consistently delivered business results by connecting audiences to content and brands in meaningful, commercially impactful ways.
Known for her collaborative leadership style, Ahlstrand is passionate about building high-
performing teams and developing marketing strategies that deliver both brand impact and
commercial results.
