Jeanne Mau leads NBCU LAUNCH, the umbrella brand that houses the comprehensive inclusion efforts across NBCUniversal’s entertainment television portfolio. Mau’s scope includes entertainment programming created by NBCU’s four studios – Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios and Universal Television Alternative Studio – its networks, including NBC and Bravo, and its streaming platform, Peacock.
Mau oversees NBCU LAUNCH’s slate of talent development initiatives which focus on providing high-potential creatives with access to meaningful opportunities in television at any point in their careers. She oversees efforts such as the NBC TV Writers Program, TV Directors Program, and Unscripted Producers Initiative, as well as the Below-the-Line Traineeship and Production Assistants Initiative. With the support of the NBCU LAUNCH team, emerging artisans gain entry into the industry and mid-level writers and producers have a chance to step into more senior-level roles.
Since joining NBCU in September 2021, Mau has bolstered new and existing partnerships, and serves as an integral resource to internal and external stakeholders, including creative executives, showrunners, writers, producers, and other production crew members.
Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Mau spent more than two decades at ViacomCBS as a television creative executive before pivoting to spearhead the company’s inclusion efforts. As Senior Vice President, Global Inclusion at ViacomCBS, Mau ran and developed talent initiatives to inspire and foster innovation and cultivate a world-class talent pool of content creators. She oversaw the ViacomCBS Writers Mentoring Program, Directors Initiative, Viewfinder Emerging Directors Program, and Nickelodeon Writers and Artist Program.
In her personal time, Mau volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and an advisory board member for the Alliance of Women Directors.
Mau graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
