Speaker Ann Shin
Ann Shin is the CEO of Fathom Film Group and an award-winning writer and executive producer celebrated for character-driven storytelling. Under her leadership, Fathom has evolved into a premium production company with a bold focus on True Crime, a dedicated YouTube division, and an expanding slate of scripted projects—staying nimble in a market that seems to reinvent itself every quarter.
As exec producer or showrunner, Ann has delivered premium unscripted series including Stay Tooned (CBC), Kpop Evolution (YouTube Originals), The List (CTV), and Save Us From Our House (HGTV), collaborating with Amazon, AMC, Bell Media, CBC, Discovery, TVO, Arte and others.
#WhileBlack premiered at SXSW and won the Special Jury Prize at MSPIFF. Her feature My Enemy, My Brother was shortlisted for an Academy Award and received an Emmy nomination. The Defector won Best Documentary at the Canadian Screen Awards. She is also an honoree of The Hollywood Reporter's 2026 Canadian Women of Power.
