Speaker Stephen Shinn
A highly regarded communications strategist and entertainment publicist, Stephen Shinn has built a career shaping the visibility and success of some of the industry’s most recognizable brands, productions, and talent. As President of Shinn Communications Canada and the Head of Communications for Lark Productions, he is known for creating impactful publicity campaigns, elevating corporate and creative brands, and connecting premium content with audiences across Canada and internationally.
Stephen played a pivotal role in launching and growing the Paramount+ brand in Canada and has led Canadian PR campaigns for acclaimed scripted series and films, including The Mission Impossible and Transformers franchises, Halo, Billy the Kid, Mayor of Kingstown, Yellowstone, The Offer, 1883, and 1923, among many others.
His extensive client roster includes Lark Productions, where he has overseen campaigns for hit series including Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent (Citytv, Citytv+), Allegiance (CBC,CBC Gem) and Family Law (Global/ StackTV), as well as globally recognized brands and organizations including Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Shoppers Drug Mart, Diesel, and Dualstar The Mary Kate & Ashley brand. His background also includes producing large-scale live events and theatrical programming for leading Canadian arts institutions including Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall.
Beyond his communications work, Stephen is a respected industry mentor and advisor. At the BANFF World Media Festival, he has mentored participants in the BANFF Spark Accelerator for Women in the Business of Media and coached producers participating in the Canada-France Series Lab, a collaboration between Series Mania Forum, Telefilm Canada, CNC, and BANFF.
