Attraction

Richard Jean-Baptiste is a Montreal-based executive producer and business innovation leader with over 25 years of experience in film, television, and digital storytelling. He currently leads Attria Media, part of the Attraction group, where he develops original fiction and documentary projects while supporting diverse voices, particularly BIPOC creators, across both French and English-language markets.

Before focusing fully on film and television, Richard spent nearly 20 years in the advertising industry, where he developed and produced large-scale content initiatives in collaboration with global brands. This experience shaped his approach to storytelling, combining creative vision with innovative partnership and financing models.

Richard’s recent producing credits include Secret Agents of the Underground Railroad, a documentary broadcast on CBC and nominated for a Canadian Screen Award, and Big Little Things, shot in South Africa and currently in production, exploring science, conservation, and sisterhood across continents.

Over the course of his career, he has produced more than fifty scripted and unscripted projects, with work broadcast on CBC, Radio-Canada, HBO Canada, and other major platforms. His productions have received numerous accolades, including Gémeaux, Numix, and Cannes Cyber Lions. Richard also serves as co-chair and board member of the Black Screen Office of Canada, advocating for greater inclusion across the screen-based industries.
