Sharon Scott is President of A+E Factual Studios™ and oversees the group’s expanding full-service, nonfiction content business. The business is based out of A+E Networks® in New York and encompasses the Category 6 Media™ and Six West Media™ brands.
Scott joined A+E Networks as Executive Vice President of Category 6 Media in 2020 and was promoted to her current role in 2022. Prior to joining A+E Networks, she spent 27 years at NBCUniversal, where she held positions focused on nonfiction programming. Scott was President and General Manager of Peacock Productions, a division of NBC News specializing in nonscripted programming for 11 years. Under Scott’s direction, Peacock Productions produced multiple series and specials across NBCUniversal’s platforms and in partnership with more than 25 outside clients and global partners.
Before founding Peacock, she was Executive Producer and General Manager of NBC News Productions and NBC Media Productions. She was a member of the executive team at Dateline for 10 years and Now with Tom Brokaw and Katie Couric for the show’s duration. Scott was also on the board of The Weather Company and served as the executive liaison between NBC News and The Weather Channel with oversight of all live and long-form programming at the network.
Scott’s honors include a number of national news Emmy® Awards in addition to a George Foster Peabody Award, an Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University Award and an Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of Hurricane Andrew.
