Matt Cansick is Senior Director, Creative Licensing – TV North America at BMG Production Music. A native of London, UK, he joined BMG's Los Angeles office in 2019, initially overseeing their extensive work in TV marketing, before moving into his current position covering both promo and in-show music licensing for their production music catalog.
Spearheading the Television department, Matt is responsible for all major network partnerships as well as global deals with various SVOD services. He is also leading BMG Production Music’s expansion into Canada, through both music licensing, and the promotion of Canadian production music writers and the historic Parry Music Library.
Prior to his move to Los Angeles, Matt spent nearly 3 years in the Production Music department in BMG's London office, which followed spells at Amphibious Zoo Music and Warner/Chappell Production Music. He began his career at Wise Music Group (formerly The Music Sales Group) handling third party print licensing.
Matt resides in Los Angeles with his wife, their cat, and their dog. A former St Paul's Cathedral chorister, he received his BA in History from the University of Sheffield, and recently completed a Masters in Legal Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.
