Jason Badal
Head of Canada, Disney+
Walt Disney Company (Canada) Ltd.
Jason Badal is Head of Canada for Disney+, the global streaming service owned by The Walt Disney Company. In this role Jason leads the Canadian strategy for the platform with a specific focus on the content offering and technology.
Prior to Disney+, Jason was the global head of multinational merchants within Shopify, bringing mass adoption of ecommerce to the largest and most complex companies in the world. In previous roles, Jason has led business affairs at Rogers Media and Sportsnet, Canada's #1 sports network and has practiced as a technology/corporate lawyer at McCarthy Tetrault LLP while teaching at at Toronto Metropolitan University and Osgoode Hall Law School.
Jason is currently a Board Director of the MLSE Foundation and on the Advisory Board of the Banff World Media Festival. In addition, Jason is an angel investor and advisor to a number of startups in the sports, technology and direct to consumer commerce industries.
