Michael Stiller

History

Mike Stiller is a veteran programmer known for commissioning and developing a wide range of hits and critically acclaimed documentaries. At History Channel, he developed The Curse of Oak Island, the #1 rated series on cable as of Spring 2021. He developed the world-wide hit Ancient Aliens, MonsterQuest, and Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy. Stiller oversaw development at H2 where he shepherded the hit series Brad Meltzer’s Lost History which made history and national headlines by finding the lost Ground Zero Flag of 9/11. He was executive producer of the Emmy-nominated Third Reich: Rise and Fall, WWII in HD, Vietnam in HD, and Road to 9/11 which inspired the recent hit podcast Blind Spot. He was executive producer for Roots: A New Vision, winner of the 2017 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Documentary, and a network executive on History’s re-imagining of Roots. More recently, he developed History’s premium series History’s Greatest Mysteries with Laurence Fishburne, the action-packed competition series Truck Night in America, and The Proof Is Out There, a top nonfiction launch of 2020.

Prior to joining History Channel, Stiller was a writer for MTV, Nickelodeon, and Noggin. In the 1990s, he developed video games, including Men In Black: The Game, and the award-winning children’s interactive series One Small Square.
